Vocabulary


liquefaction: the process of which moist soil becomes mud because of the severe shaking of an earthquake.
aftershock: a smaller earthquake that follows a big earthquake in the same area.
tsunamis: the waves created by an underwater earthquake.
base-isolated building: a building that is designed to lower the power of an earthquake as it reaches the building.
